Emotions provide an ideal framework for inter- and cross-disciplinary research since, due to their complex multi-faceted nature, they cannot be properly understood from the perspective of a single discipline. In this paper, I argue that the use of robots as both stimuli (tools) and models is meaningful in both disciplines as far as emotion research is concerned. I focus on the view of robots as models, illustrate it with representative examples from both disciplines and their potential for cross-fertilization, and discuss ways in which the use of robots as interaction partners is central towards bridging the interdisciplinary gap.}, url = {http://www.macs.hw.ac.uk/~kl360/HRI2014W/proceedings.html}, author = {Lola Ca{\~n}amero} }
